About Domine Eduard Osok Airport

Domine Eduard Osok Airport is an airport located in Sorong city, West Papua, Indonesia. It is one of the busiest and largest airports on the Doberai Peninsula. It replaces the former airport, a former World War II air base. It has become too small and located on Jefman Island.This terminal’s development continues to be done especially since the implementation of the international activities, Sail Raja Ampat 2014, which was attended by the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in Raja Ampat regency. It has a runway length of 2105 meters and a width of 45 meters which is optimized to accomodate Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG type aircraft. Currently, it is planned to extend the runway length up to 2500 meters. The Domine Eduard Osok Airport has a new terminal that has raised its status from Class III to Class I, which is the main terminal. The airport will be continuously renovated and upgrade to become the largest air gateway in Papua, in accordance with the Sorong City program.
